Kuntsevo district was formed from the village near Moscow. His chronicle started at the beginning of the XVIII century.
For a long period, this region of the Moscow Region was the palace possession of Ivan Mikhailovich Miloslavsky, and due to its proximity to the capital and the attractiveness of nature in the beginning of the 19th century, country plots were born here.
District
The picturesque nature attracted many famous people here who loved to relax and organize celebrations here. In 1870, the Moscow-Smolensk railway was laid through this area, and a few years later the Kuntsevo station was opened. By the beginning of the twentieth century, a large suburban settlement was built, which became known as New Kuntsevo. Industrial enterprises began to appear in the populated area, electric networks and communications were laid, housing construction of one-story houses started. Capital construction of the municipal area began after the Great Patriotic War. Here the latest industrial companies arose and in 1960 the district became a full-fledged component of the capital.
Now the former locality of the town is divided between the metropolitan areas Mozhaysky, Kuntsevo, Filevsky park, Fili-Davydkovo.
Railway station
The train station "Kuntsevo" was opened in 1874, after the construction of the Moscow-Smolensk direction was completed. She acquired her name thanks to the nearby Kuntsevskaya street. The station was built in a pseudo-Gothic manner, it was erected in 1913 and has survived to the present period, reminding with its own style of the western trend.
The station has connections with points Savelovsky and Kursk directions.
The railway station is fully equipped for boarding and alighting passengers and comfortable waiting. The station building has a buffet, coffee shops, fast food, stationary toilets, turnstiles and equipped cash registers. Since the beginning of the 20th century, this railway station was famous for its buffet. From here came a saying: “You won’t leave hungry from Kuntsevo.” Thanks to the numerous working fast foods, this adage is still relevant today.
The railway station is open around the clock. From the Kuntsevo station, commuter trains leave to the Belorussky railway station in Moscow.

Kuntsevo metro
The 176th station is the landing point of the Arbat-Pokrovskaya strip. The station is located near the Rublevskoe highway and is considered the interchange hub of two directions of the metro. It is located between Art. "Slavic Boulevard" and "Youth". From the Kuntsevo metro station it is possible to go to the Filevskaya line. This interval station was opened in 1965, between the station. "Youth" and "Pioneer", and in 2008 an auxiliary platform was created. Today it is the third point of the Moscow metro, which contains three tracks: one line belongs to the Filevsky direction, and the other two to Arbatsko-Pokrovsky.
