Kuntsevo district was formed from the village near Moscow. His chronicle started at the beginning of the XVIII century.

For a long period, this region of the Moscow Region was the palace possession of Ivan Mikhailovich Miloslavsky, and due to its proximity to the capital and the attractiveness of nature in the beginning of the 19th century, country plots were born here.

The picturesque nature attracted many famous people here who loved to relax and organize celebrations here. In 1870, the Moscow-Smolensk railway was laid through this area, and a few years later the Kuntsevo station was opened. By the beginning of the twentieth century, a large suburban settlement was built, which became known as New Kuntsevo. Industrial enterprises began to appear in the populated area, electric networks and communications were laid, housing construction of one-story houses started. Capital construction of the municipal area began after the Great Patriotic War. Here the latest industrial companies arose and in 1960 the district became a full-fledged component of the capital.

Now the former locality of the town is divided between the metropolitan areas Mozhaysky, Kuntsevo, Filevsky park, Fili-Davydkovo.

Railway station

The train station "Kuntsevo" was opened in 1874, after the construction of the Moscow-Smolensk direction was completed. She acquired her name thanks to the nearby Kuntsevskaya street. The station was built in a pseudo-Gothic manner, it was erected in 1913 and has survived to the present period, reminding with its own style of the western trend.

"Youth" and "Pioneer", and in 2008 an auxiliary platform was created. Today it is the third point of the Moscow metro, which contains three tracks: one line belongs to the Filevsky direction, and the other two to Arbatsko-Pokrovsky.
