In 1963, during the Cold War, there was an urgent need for a military formation capable of landing both from air and from the sea to carry out combat missions in any region of the globe. The leadership of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union revised their attitude to the Navy. The army of the USSR needed troops of this kind, like the Marine Corps disbanded in 1956. As a result, 1963 became the year of the beginning of its revival. The result of such activities in the higher echelons of command was the emergence of several army formations, one of which was 810 brigade of marines. The beginning of the revival of the Marine Corps
The most recent military unit of the marines was assigned to the Black Sea Fleet. This military formation was the 393rd separate battalion. The place of deployment was the city of Sevastopol. In 1963, the Ministry of Defense created Directive No. 3/500340. According to her, the 120th Guards Motorized Rifle Division, which was assigned to the Belarusian Military District, was subject to reformation. As a result, this division became the basis for the creation of the 336th Separate Guards Regiment of the Marine Corps (OPMP) - the first military unit revived after 1956. The regiment belongs to the Baltic Fleet.

1966 was the year of the formation of the 309th separate MP battalion, which became part of the Black Sea Fleet. The 1st battalion of the 336th mechanized infantry division and the personnel serving in the 135th motorized rifle regiment assigned to the 295th motorized infantry division in the Transcaucasian Military District became the base for the OBMP. The 309th OBMP is deployed in the city of Sevastopol. The command is carried out by Colonel I. I. Sisolyatin. Military equipment and personnel are being deployed by landing ships located in the department created in the same year of the 197th brigade. Its location is Lake Donuzlav. In 1966, the Northern Fleet was replenished with the 61st Motor Rifle Regiment, which had previously been assigned to the 131st Motor Rifle Division in the Leningrad Military District. As a result of the reorganization, the 61st Regiment became a separate Guards Marine Corps. In 1967, the 309th Squadron assigned to the 1st battalion of the 336th Separate Marine Regiment of the Baltic Fleet, the tank company of the 61st Northern Fleet Division served as the basis for the creation of the 810th Separate Regiment. The creation of the 810th BMP
In November 1979, the military leadership of the Soviet Union decided that the Armed Forces of the USSR needed a large number of units of the MP. Military exercises and campaigns
The combat service is the use of marines to complete the Soviet naval squadron heading for the shores of the far abroad. In 1967, as a result of the sharp aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, which entailed the Six Day War, the Soviet Mediterranean Navy fleet was sent to the Syrian shores, namely two large and two medium landing ships. The USSR vessel was transported by marines of the 309th separate battalion. The military was tasked with disembarking at the port and supporting government forces if Israeli forces continued to move toward the Golan Heights. Soon, the Soviet landing ships left Syria and headed for the Egyptian strategically important port in the city of Port Said.
In 1969, the Arab-Israeli conflict resumed. This became the basis for the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union to form a consolidated reinforced battalion of the MP. The task of the marines was to protect the port in the city of Port Said. Egyptian authorities provided it to the USSR Navy as a base for the Soviet squadron. The soldiers of the reinforced battalion guarded the Suez Canal and the oil terminals located there. The battalion was equipped with servicemen of companies and units of the MP, including those from the 810th brigade. In 1970, the unit was sent to undergo Ocean maneuvers off the Syrian and Egyptian shores. In 1971, the South exercise was held. The Black Sea Fleet, the Belarusian and Odessa military districts were involved. In 1972, the 810th Brigade was sent for joint exercises with the Syrian Navy. In 1977 and 1979 conducted exercises "Coast-77" and "Coast-79." In 1981 - "West-81." The Baltic Sea was chosen for the exercises. Management of a separate battalion was carried out by Major V. Rudenko. At the same time, exercises were held in the Mediterranean Sea together with the Syrian marines. The Soviet MP was led by Lieutenant Colonel V. N. Abashkin. In 1942, the shield-82 exercise was held. In 1988 - “Autumn-88.”
About reform
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the 810th Brigade of the MP is under the jurisdiction of the RF Armed Forces. 1995 was the year of the formation of the 382nd separate battalion with military unit No. 45765. The base was the 282nd separate air assault battalion, which is part of the 810 brigade. A new formation is deployed in the Krasnodar Territory in the city of Temryuk. Due to the difficult economic situation and the general reduction of military units in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the 810th separate battalion was reorganized into a regiment of the MP. In 2008, all changes were returned back.

Captain Karpushenko V.V. was awarded with the Highest rank of the Hero of Russia for military missions to the Second Chechen. Another 24 servicemen received the Order of Courage.
The Order of Merit for the Fatherland of the second degree was awarded to 10 soldiers. 55 people received Suvorov medals, 50 for courage, 48 for military valor, and 29. 29 people were awarded the Zhukov Medal. In January 2018, the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin signed Decree No. 36, according to which the 810th Brigade of the MP bears the honorary name “Guards”.
