It all started on the Volga beach, near the city of Ulyanovsk, when two girls approached the volleyball coach Emil Zamaletdinov, who worked here with his daughter, asking to help learn how to play beach volleyball.

From the spark

By general standards, Anna Malova is not a woman of small stature, but she is very short by volleyball, even by female volleyball.

On the Volga beach, the trainers of Zinganshin were attracted not just by Ani’s external data (she was one of the girls), but by a small “spark” - the desire to learn how to play, achieve more, move on, passionate desire to win and fight to the end. What kind of teacher does not like in the student, sorry for the tautology, the love of what he teaches. Anna received an invitation to practice in the volleyball section at the Torpedo stadium and took advantage of it.

Isn't growth important?

The main trend of modern volleyball is player growth data. Jumping and dexterity is no longer valued as before, and therefore young volleyball players who do not have the prerequisites to grow two meters or more are almost immediately faced with a barrier to becoming professionals. No one can forbid playing at the amateur level, of course, but above … You can compensate for growth by dedication, dexterity, and the ability to read the game. But this requires a lot of strength and experience, which means that a few people go this way. Anna Malova in volleyball from among them.

She began her career in volleyball with the role of a binder. Most probably smart and technical in volleyball. The ability to make an accurate and verified pass to the right place and at the right height is not given to everyone, and growth is not critical for him.

Having completely gone through a possible path in Ulyanovsk, Anna wanted more. Yes, there is still a former coach of the Russian women's team, Italian Carrara, at one of the tournaments noticed a “sparkling” Malova and advised coach Zamaletdinov to show the girl to coaches of the top and super league teams.

Iskra in Iskra

So Anna Malova ended up in Samara's Iskra, whose coach advised her to change her role to libero. Still, it was not enough for a connecting growth at this level, but for a libero, high growth is still rather a hindrance. It is very difficult for the verzil to fold down and play defense: he does not have time. So Anna found her place. Everything fell to the court: growth, agility, perseverance, technology, and dedication.

From Ufimochki to the national team

After the disbanded Iskra, there was Ufimochka. From her, Anna was invited to the national team, where she achieved with her all the latest successes of the team. The transition to the Moscow “Dynamo” only approved the authority of the ubiquitous Libero throughout the site.

On the way to dreams?

Anna Malova's cherished desire has always been the title of champion of the world and the Olympic Games. It is in sports. But in her life they are no different from the desires of ordinary women: to meet true love and give birth to children.

Of the first, only “uncredited” Europe submitted, but the second captured Malova so much that she interrupted her career and had already given birth to a daughter. Will Anna return to the site? Maybe yes. Moreover, many connected the last failure of the women's team at the European Championships with the lack of a blond spark. Although, who knows: what is it, female happiness?
