Biography

Vladimir Kozhin was born on 02/28/1959 in the Chelyabinsk region, in Troitsk. His parents worked as builders. In 1964, when Vova was only five years old, his father died in an emergency during the construction of a local state district power station.

In school years, the future politician was a bully, loved to argue with teachers, fought for breaks. Then the director of the school, who lived next door to the Kozhins, took up his education. He instilled in Vova an interest in sports: he taught him to play basketball and volleyball, to run skiing. Gradually, the boy pulled himself up to study: in 1976, after graduating from school, he had almost one five in his certificate.

In the same year, the young man went to Leningrad to enter the Electrotechnical Institute. In 1982, he graduated from LETI, receiving an engineering degree. According to Vladimir Kozhin, it was difficult for him to study at a university. The visiting student lived in a dormitory, and the atmosphere prevailing there did not contribute to sitting behind textbooks. Nevertheless, the future politician was an active participant in the life of the institute: he was a member of the hostel council, participated in construction teams and was the editor of the wall newspaper.

After graduating from LETI, Vladimir Kozhin went to work in the Petrograd district committee of the Komsomol, held the posts of department head and instructor. In 1986, he moved to work in the closed NPO Azimut, until 1989 he managed to work there as an engineer and a leading specialist. In 1989-1990 he was sent to Germany for an internship at the Higher Commercial School. Upon his return, Kozhin created a department of foreign economic relations at Azimut. Then he became director of Azimut International Ltd, a joint Russian-Polish project.

In 1993-1994 Vladimir Igorevich worked at the St. Petersburg Association of Joint Ventures as CEO. At the same time, he met V. Putin, who at that time was the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations at the City Hall.

In 1994, Vladimir Kozhin headed the Northwest Center of the Export and Currency Control Service in Russia. In this post, he worked for six years and during this time managed to graduate from the Academy of Public Administration.

In September 1999, Putin, who was already the prime minister of the country, invited Vladimir Igorevich to the capital and invited him to take the post of head of the FSVEK of Russia. Four months later, when Yeltsin resigned, Vladimir Vladimirovich became the acting head of state and made Kozhin the managing director of the president. This position of politician held until May 2014.

As manager, Vladimir Igorevich was also involved in organizational work. In August 2000, he joined the Russian Victory Committee, and at the end of 2004 became the head of the organizing committee, which was preparing for the celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War.

In December 2005, Kozhin received the post of vice president of the Russian Olympic Committee. Since 2007, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Organizing Committee of the Sochi Olympics. He was also a member of the board of trustees of the Dynamo Sports Society.

Currently

May 12, 2014 Vladimir Igorevich became an assistant to the President of the Russian Federation in matters of military-technical cooperation. He held this post until June 13, 2018.
