There are a lot of beautiful places in Russia. It would seem difficult to surprise a person with a beautiful landscape, the majesty of the river. But among them there are places that cling to the heart and stay there for a long time.

Two turquoises

Biryusa refers to them - the river is severe and beautiful. As Viktor Astafyev wrote: “What we saw on the present Biryusa is not a word or a brush - it takes your breath away - such beauty!” The writer, who grew up in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, traveled along and across, visited many famous rivers, but the beauty of these places captivated him.

I would like to immediately note that there are two Biryusa. They take their origin on the slopes of the Dzhuglymsky ridge in the East Sayan, but flow in different directions. Therefore, the question of where the Biryusa river flows is quite logical. One Biryusa (She), a full-flowing and majestic river, carries its waters along the Siberian Plateau and, merging with the Chuna River, forms the Tekeyeva River, which flows into the Angara.

Another Biryusa carries its waters to the great Siberian river - the Yenisei. Bearing the same name, they differ from each other in size and disposition. Biryusa (She) is calm, majestic, framed by rocky and flat shores.

Biryusa in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is obstinate and rugged, flows among the rocky and inaccessible shores covered with taiga forest.

Biryusa River (She)

Biryusa (formed from the confluence of two rivers - Bolshaya and Malaya Biryusa) carries its waters through the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where its source is located, and the Irkutsk Region. Its channel is uneven, has rifts, rapids, channels, forming islands of various sizes.

130 rivers, streams that feed it flow into it. The shores are covered with mixed taiga, consisting of cedar, pine, birch. The places here are uninhabited, deserted. There are no big cities, industrial enterprises on the banks. The largest settlement is the city of Biryusinsk, which is part of the Irkutsk region, several small settlements and villages where Old Believers live - Shivera, Lugovaya, Ust-Kaitym.

In the middle and lower reaches of Biryusa - navigable river. Used for rafting wood. The main occupation of the population is crafts: fishing, hunting, cedar. A strong ice cover on the river is established in November, and ice is opened in the second half of April.

Biryusa River in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

The territory where this Biryusa river runs is the Krasnoyarsk Territory. She, unlike her namesake, is not so long, shallow, flows through mountainous terrain. Its shores are inaccessible, rocky and forested. The main attraction of this Biryusa are karst caves, which number about 80. The largest is Geneva, has a length of strokes of about 6 kilometers and goes into the ground by 170 meters. Caves of complex relief with beautiful streak formations that attract tourists.

Biryusa laid her way along the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, not far from the city of Divnogorsk. It falls into the Krasnoyarsk reservoir on the Yenisei River. The confluence is called Biryusa Bay. Here the temperature is always 5 degrees higher than on the Krasnoyarsk reservoir.

The shores are rocky, inaccessible, with a beautiful view. Here are the famous "Royal Gate", a natural passage in the coastal cliffs. They offer an indescribably beautiful view of the bay.

Biryusa River: Alloy

The confluence of two rivers - the Big and Small Biryusa, forming Biryusa (Onu), is called "Tofalaria". The few people of tofa live here. The name of this place is familiar to avid fishermen and rafts.

Almost the only way to the impenetrable headwaters of Biryusa goes from the station Nizhneudinsk. From here you need to get to Ust-Yaga, where Biryusa flows. A river eight kilometers from the village becomes full-flowing due to the confluence of the Big and Small Biryusa. Rafting starts from these places.

You can get here by helicopter, the Ural all-terrain vehicle, but it is very expensive. It remains to look for a private conductor or organizers of alloys that have appeared recently. One hundred kilometers of the road to Ust-Yaga is not easy to overcome. Obstacles in the form of boulders, streams flowing directly along the road, or a stone river are difficult to overcome, but fishermen and rafts come here regularly.

It is in Biryusa, which flows in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, that they mainly conduct rafting in boats, kayaks and rafts. The obstinate nature of the river attracts thrill-seekers here.

Wonderful nature has a pleasant rest after a dangerous hike. There are popular routes along the Biryusa River (She), especially in its upper reaches. The length of the route can be different, but for the most part is 200 km, the duration of the alloy is 10 days.

Fishing in Biryusa

The fast flow of the river allows you to spend the rafting faster, but due to stops for spending the night, fishing, relaxing and exploring the sights, its duration is 10 days.

Fishing is excellent here. The rivers are inhabited by species of fish characteristic of these places: lenok, burbot, taimen, grayling. Cool depends on the weather.

If a decision has been made to raft along the Biryusa of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, then it should be borne in mind that its average depth is small, only 1.5 meters. The water level rises significantly during the period of active melting of snow in the mountains and the amount of precipitation.

Short heavy rains raise the level of rivers almost three times. The water speed is significant, and the rifts are long and gentle. There are plenty of fish. The inconvenience is the lack of normal bivouacs for sleeping, as during the rains the coastal willow floods.

On the banks there are rare huts for hunters, where you can warm up, relax, get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the region where Biryusa flows. The river meets fishermen from mid-May until the beginning of November. There are always a lot of people who want to go fishing in Biryusa. In addition to fishing, here you can admire nature, collect pine nuts.
