When a person is asked to list the colors of the rainbow in order, such a little friend familiar from childhood immediately appears in the head: "Every hunter wants to know where the pheasant sits." And accordingly, the first letters of this phrase are called colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue and purple. Memorized
very easy, and most importantly, for life. Rainbow is an amazing natural phenomenon. She always causes some kind of delight, even in the hearts of older people. The soul begins to believe in magic and miracles. Perhaps this is due to the human genetic memory, because this phenomenon in the mythologies of all the peoples of the world is correlated with especially favorable events.
The order of the colors of the rainbow is associated with the refraction of white in the prism. The angle of refraction directly depends on the light wavelength. And since light pierces two planes, different colors are refracted at different angles. Thus, a white ray “enters” the prism, and a “rainbow” “leaves”. Such a nicole (i.e. a prism) in nature can be a drop of water or
thunderstorm front. Persian astronomers could explain this phenomenon and the colors of the rainbow in order only in the 13th century, but the fact remained closed to most inhabitants of the planet. And they continued to perceive it as a miracle. In magical rituals, to positively influence the situation, objects were painted or deliberately stacked in the same sequence in which the colors of the rainbow went. It was believed that such a system harmonizes the situation.
The colors of the rainbow are arranged in order depending on the wavelength: the longest is red above, the shortest is blue below. Both the peoples of the world considered the palette and arrangement of colors to be sacred, and the phenomenon itself was understood as a connection between heaven and earth, gods and people. In the ancient Indian epic "Ramayana, " the rainbow is called the divine bow of one of the supreme gods Indra, who throws lightning arrows from it, accompanied by thunder. In the ancient Scandinavian treatise "Bivrest" this phenomenon is interpreted as a bridge that unites the sky with the earth in sacred moments. He is guarded by a guard. And before the death of the world and the gods, this bridge will collapse forever.
In Islam, rainbow colors are seen differently in order. There are only four of them: red, yellow, green, blue. And just like the Indians, this phenomenon was considered the bow of the god of light Kuzakh, with whom he defeats the forces of darkness, and after victory he hangs weapons on the clouds. The ancient Slavs called the rainbow a symbol of the victory of the supreme god Perun over the spirits of evil. His wife, Lada, draws water from the oceans at one end of the “celestial rocker”, and rains the earth from the other. At night, the gods carefully store the rainbow in the constellation Ursa Major. There was a belief: if a seven-color arc did not appear above the earth for a long time, then hunger, disease, and crop failure should be expected.
But in Christian times, the rainbow became closer and more understandable to all people on the planet as a reminder of God's forgiveness of people at the end of the Flood. As a conclusion of an alliance and a promise that from now on the Almighty will not punish the people so cruelly. The rainbow has become a symbol of beautiful heavenly fire and peace. And the colors characterized God: purple - nobility, orange - aspiration, blue - silence, green - presentiments, yellow - wealth, blue - hope, red - victory.
