This material will describe a non-profit organization - the “Monotowns Development Fund”. The history of this institution began in 2014. It was then that Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Government of the Russian Federation voiced the strategic task of developing the country's single-industry towns. First of all, it is planned to do this through diversification of the economy and job creation.

The director of the Monotown Development Fund aims to improve the infrastructure. Active work is underway to diversify the economy. Thus, it is planned to stabilize the socio-demographic and economic status of single-industry towns.

Projects are being developed to create new jobs in settlements with the most difficult economic situation that would not be related to the city-forming enterprise. It is planned to achieve attracting new investment due to investment improvements.

Tasks

The Monotown Development Fund is engaged in the formation and training of teams that manage community development projects. The organization’s list of tasks also includes co-financing of expenses of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and municipalities.

The monotowns development fund directs these funds for the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure facilities that are necessary to launch investment projects. Organization functions are not limited to this. It should facilitate the preparation and implementation of investment projects.

Indicators

In 2014, the Monotown Development Fund and the Ministry of Economic Development signed an agreement. It involves the provision of a subsidy of 3 billion rubles. It is also planned to allocate funds at first in the amount of 4.5 billion, and then another 10.8. In total, by the end of 2017, the organization should receive about 29.1 billion rubles.
