Just recently, the first news about the All-Russian competition "Leaders of Russia", which officially started on October 11 of this (2017) year, has thundered. At the initiative of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and the Higher School of Public Administration of the RANEPA, a call was made to all corners of Russia for ambitious and purposeful people with experience in leadership work.
Among them, it is planned to find the most competent and promising managers, real leaders, capable of promoting and developing our country in most key areas in the near future. In other words, identifying the best of the best leaders is the main goal of the "Leaders of Russia" contest. This unprecedented event takes place for the first time in the history of our country, and therefore it is quite worthy to be called historical.
"Leaders of Russia." The essence of the competition
According to Sergey Kirienko, the first deputy head of the presidential administration, the launch of such a project is the implementation of the direct recommendation of the head of state.
The main goal of the competition "Leaders of Russia" is to not only select the winners who can further participate in the country's governance, but also support, develop and train new personnel in this case in the field of leadership, which are already directly related to governance. But the main quality of the participants is their willingness and desire for higher achievements, their willingness to do more than they did before this moment. Indeed, even the very participation in an event of this magnitude will require each competitor to concentrate on winning and make every effort for healthy rivalry.
What is the reward for the winners
Any competition, including the 2017 Leaders of Russia contest, implies not only the goals of the organizers, but also an award to those who will show themselves so well that they stand out from the huge crowd of talented contestants. What privileges for participants does victory mean? Is it necessary to register for the competition "Leaders of Russia"? I must say right away that three hundred finalists will receive grants in the amount of one million rubles each for training under a personally selected program. And that in itself is already great! Who can participate in the competition?
The idea of the project was conceived at the end of last year. And now, after almost twelve months, it became a reality for many thousands of participants in the 2017 Leaders of Russia contest. Any citizen of the Russian Federation can apply for participation, regardless of their field of activity. It must be no older than 50 years. The main conditions for candidates are experience in leadership positions for at least five years if the participant falls within the age range of 35 to 50 years. For young people who have not yet reached 35, there are some more facilitated criteria. Two years of leadership experience are enough for them.
At the moment, out of the almost two hundred thousand who dared to submit an application, the competition "Leaders of Russia" has already eliminated most of those who wanted to do it in the first stages of online testing. Thirteen thousand worthy remained. Nevertheless, even few of them will be among the winners.
The main stages of the selection of winners

The next step is remote selection. Persons who are registered in time for the competition "Leaders of Russia" are allowed to it. From November 10 to 22, online testing is held to identify competitors with intellectual data and potential management abilities. After processing all the tests and making decisions, each participant will be sent personal comments based on the test results of the competition "Leaders of Russia".

Some details of online testing
According to recent reports, after the first qualifying round of more than one hundred eighty thousand participants, a little less than thirteen thousand remained. And such a hard screening is an absolute regularity. This is exactly what one of the participants in the online testing of Alexander Shigapov considered. In her reviews of the Leaders of Russia contest, she reports that the questions were so complex that they were too tough for most registered participants.
In support of her words, the project’s spokeswoman Maria Blokhina reports that the questions for the tests were drawn up by the best experts in the country. The contestants tested their knowledge in the fields of economics, culture, the Constitution, as well as the history of Russia, literature and geography. And I must admit that this was only the first stage of the tests of the competition "Leaders of Russia". At the second stage, participants were tested for the presence of developed arithmetic and cognitive abilities. In other words, future managers were checked to quickly identify the essence of the issue.
And the third stage of testing will determine how skillfully the contestants behave in management, with what effectiveness their leadership qualities are manifested. For the most honesty and complete exclusion of fraud, all tests are checked by machines.
The opinion of mentors
Upon completion of the last stage of testing the All-Russian competition "Leaders of Russia", the results of which can be found on November 22 after their official publication, all participants will receive letters with comments directly on the basis of the exam. In this regard, the newspaper Vzglyad asked several questions to Sergei Nedoroslev, co-chair of Delovaya Rossiya, who is also one of the mentors of the Leaders of Russia contest. Reviews Nedoroslev about the complexity of the tests coincided with the opinion of many participants in the project. He stressed that the public interest in the contest was much greater than its organizers expected. After all, at first it was calculated that there would be no more than 15 thousand people who wanted to test their strength in management. Other mentors and colleagues of Sergei Nedoroslev felt the same way. But in fact, the participants turned out to be ten times more, and this only fueled the interest of the press and the public in the project and emphasized the need for its implementation.
What awaits past tests
According to official figures, about 2, 400 contestants will be allowed to the semi-finals, who will be selected directly based on the results of online testing. For each federal district there will be 300 people. Face-to-face meetings are planned with them in all eight federal districts. And to prevent fraud, some elements of the tests of the Leaders of Russia contest will be included in face-to-face interviews. In other words, the contestants will have to re-answer some of the test questions in order to prove that they solved them online without any help. The semi-final is scheduled for December this year.
From the region to the capital
So, the online testing has not yet been completed. It will last until November 22. But most likely, the majority of participants who completed two rounds of the test survey are already dreaming that they will enter the three hundred winners-finalists. However, even three hundred champions is not the end of the competition. After all, the only thing that will determine the best of them is the final meeting in Moscow, held approximately in February 2018. There, in the capital, the final test for the true leaders will pass, and only one third of the finalists will climb to the top of Olympus.
