Many residents of Bashkiria, not to mention other people, do not even realize that there are many waterfalls in the republic. In general, almost all waterfalls in the South Urals are located in Bashkortostan. In addition to those in the mountains, there are also located in more western areas, where there are no mountains as such.
The waterfalls of Bashkiria, the list of which is quite extensive, are not as large as, for example, in the North Caucasus. However, for residents of most Russian regions, where they do not exist at all, they are very attractive for their beauty and accessibility. It is best to visit the waterfalls in the spring, when they have a lot of water. But at such a time, it’s more difficult to get to them.
Hadelsch
This is the largest waterfall in Bashkiria, whose height is about fifteen meters. Located near Sibay. Due to the broken road in the spring it is quite difficult to get to it. Upon reaching the camp site, in any case, you will have to walk several kilometers, but it's worth it!
The waterfall has been a complex natural monument of Bashkiria (botanical, geological, geomorphological) since 1965 and is under state protection. The flora of the environs totals over 270 species of plants, including endemic and relics.
The original beautiful land where Gadelsha is located is the birthplace of many famous Bashkir singers, kuraists, sesens. Here the famous Sesen Mahmut worked and lived, from here the kuraist, artist and singer Gata Suleimanov came into the world of great art.
Atysh
Many waterfalls in Bashkiria are popular among the population, but Atysh is perhaps the most visited by tourists. It has a height of 4.5 meters, its origin is due to the activity of two rivers - the Agui and Atysh, which paved their valleys in the formation of low-carbonaceous limestones, which are characterized by high karst. These rivers originate in the Lemezinsky interfluve, at the top of the Iken watershed.
Atysh Waterfall is a complex natural monument, including a number of ponors, caves, underground streams of streams. Fauna and rare plants of the surroundings are subject to protection. Until recently, taimen spawned in a water-boiler of a waterfall. This natural site can be reached by several routes. The most popular: along the Lemeza River by car or train to the 71st kilometer, and then on foot through the Lemezu and Inzer rivers.
Cuperl
This waterfall is located near the Nugush reservoir. The height reaches fifteen meters. From under the arch of the karst bridge open places of unspoiled nature of amazing beauty. Dazzling white cliffs rise from all sides. The karst bridge and Cuperl as objects of karst formation inevitably attract the attention of a huge number of vacationers and specialists. You can get to these objects during the rafting on Nugush or by car, however it must be a prepared SUV. It should be borne in mind that in the summer, Cuperl completely dries out.
Bashkiria. Cook Karauk Waterfall
This attraction is located in the mountainous part of Ishimbay region. A small beautiful waterfall consists of several cascades of a stream with the same name. The largest cascade has a height of two to three meters.
Cook-Karauk is a complex natural monument, which is an accumulation of interesting objects and beautiful landscapes. Within a radius of three to four kilometers there are caves, a 120-meter cliff. If you go from Sterlitamak to Beloretsk along the Beloretsky highway, you can drive right up to Kuk-Karauk, it is only advisable that the car be with a somewhat high ground clearance.
Abzanovsky
Comparing the waterfalls of Bashkiria, we can conclude that Abzanovsky is the most easily accessible. On the asphalt you can drive almost to the waterfall itself, the last hundred meters are a fenced area with a paid entry. But you can go around it and admire this natural miracle without money.
The waterfall is a small stream that falls from a steep rocky coast into the Inzer River from a height of six meters. In the mid-60s of the twentieth century, it did not exist at all, and in tourist guides this place was called as the Rock of the Weeping Stone. But years passed, and the water did its job. So the waterfalls of Bashkiria replenished with another.
In the summer, the Abzanov stream almost completely dries up and only oozes on the rock, due to which its surface becomes mirrored. From here arose the second name of the waterfall - Mirror. The rocks, made up of carbonate rocks, are abundantly covered with moss, and water against its emerald-green background streams over stones, and in some places it falls in small cascades. Smooth trickles really create the illusion of a mirror.
Shulgan
Describing the waterfalls of Bashkiria, one cannot but mention this object. The waterfall is located in the gorge of the river of the same name, a hundred meters from the entrance to the Kapova cave. Shulgan is a ledge in a drying channel, like the entire gorge formed in limestone of the Upper Devonian.
The waterfall is most active in spring, autumn and early summer. Powerful jets of water make a loud noise, falling steeply into a water boiler in limestone. During the passage of snow melt water, Shulgan looks especially impressive and majestic. And in the summer it turns into a barely flowing stream. In winter, the ledge is covered with ice. It seems as if a raging stream froze in an instant.
