The guy needed to study two courses at a pedagogical institute in order to understand that he needed a creative profession.

Dramaturgy

He wrote his first plays and scripts in his student years. The works of Vasily Sigarev were readily published not only by Russian magazines (Ural, Modern Drama), but also by foreign publications that translated his works into Polish, Serbian, German, French and English. Another confirmation of the success of the plays was the interest of foreign theater directors, who drew stories from them for their performances.

In the same year, Kirill Serebrennikov transformed the work into a production that was seen by guests of the Lyubimovka festival. The performance won several prestigious Russian awards, and the British Evening Standard named Vasily Sigarev the most promising playwright. Then "Plasticine" fell into the repertoire of the French project "East-West".

Films

Vasily Sigarev considers his plays more suitable for film scripts than for theater.
