When riding on such a moving staircase, it is recommended that you hold the handrails tightly to avoid possible falls and injuries. However, a resident of Canada, Bela Kosoyan, has a different opinion. She has been trying for ten years to prove in court her right not to hold onto handrails.
How it all started
In 2009, the girl was at a metro station in the city of Laval. Next, she needed to take the escalator. One of the policemen immediately drew attention to her. He asked Bela to comply with the prescribed rules, which said that you need to hold on to the handrails.
The woman flatly refused to obey and began to argue. As a result, police detained Kosoyan and fined her $ 100 for violating safety precautions and $ 320 for refusing to present documents. Bela spent about 30 minutes in the station.
