Director Biography
Ishmukhamedov Elier Mukhitdinovich was born during the Great Patriotic War. He was born on May 1, 1942 in the territory of the Uzbek SSR. Received higher education, studying at VGIK. He graduated from the directing department in 1967. He studied in the creative workshop of the vice-rector of the institute, Yuri Genika, who became famous thanks to the film "The City Under Attack" in 1933.
The passion for the profession of director at Ishmukhamedov Elyer Mukhitdinovich appeared long ago. Even before entering VGIK, he worked as an assistant and assistant director.
His career has developed quite successfully. He became the owner of various awards, prizes and titles. Ishmukhamedov Elier Mukhitdinovich is an honored and people's artist of the Uzbek SSR. In 2013, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Big movie debut
His debut work was a short film called "Date" in 1964. The first tape immediately became successful, it was noticed by both critics and viewers.
In 1966, the film "Tenderness" was released. This is a melodrama, in which the main roles were played by Maria Sternikova and Rodion Nakhapetov. This film was the first experience of successful collaboration between Ishmukhamedov and screenwriter Odelshi Agishev. In the future, they made more than one famous film.
The plot of the painting "Tenderness" is based on the theme of growing up, the heroes are faced with the problems of youth, their first love occurs, the first personal problems are born. The events of the film unfold in the director’s hometown - Tashkent.
The film consists of three short stories, which are interconnected by love and friendship between the characters. The very first story is called "Sanjar", the name of the protagonist. He meets an attractive girl Lena, played by Maria Sternikova. Sanjar immediately falls in love with her, although he suspects that his feeling will remain unrequited.
Events in the short story entitled "Lena" unfold in an old steppe village. It tells about the past of the main character. When the Great Patriotic War began, she was with her parents in besieged Leningrad, she was able to be evacuated to Tashkent, where she met her first true love - the character of Rodion Nakhapetov named Timur. At the very end of the novel, she tragically dies, saving the child.
The third short story entitled "Mamura" tells the story of a girl in love with Timur. It is to her that he tells the sad story of his love for the deceased Lena. Mamura is crying, she is sorry for the couple in love, who were not destined to be together, and herself. At the carnival, she meets Sanjar, who consoles her, still not knowing anything about the death of Lena. For these heroes, life goes on.
For this picture, Ishmukhamedov received the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR, an encouraging diploma of the filmmaking competition of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
"Lovers"
The second successful work of Ishmukhamedov was the melodrama "Lovers", which was released in 1969. Agishev also became the screenwriter of the picture. For this film, the hero of our article received a diploma and an award for best directing at the fourth All-Union Film Festival in Minsk, as well as an honorary prize from the Soviet Screen magazine.
The main roles in the film "Lovers" were played by the same Rodion Nakhapetov and Anastasia Vertinskaya. With them on the same set were Rustam Sagdullaev, Shukhrat Irgashev, Karen Khachaturian.
The scene of the melodrama is Tashkent. At the center of the story are three male characters. One parted with a girl who does not feel true feelings for him. At the same time, he himself is very distressed. The second demonstrates success and a happy romantic relationship. The third finds his near and dear ones - his sister and mother, with whom he returns to his homeland in Greece.
"Youth of genius"
The next in Ishmukhamedov’s career were the documentary “Cycle Race”, the films “Meetings and Partings”, “Birds of Our Hopes”, and another documentary called “There is a River in Tashkent”.
Rustam Sagdullaev, Elena Tsyplakova, Leonid Bronevoy starred in the social drama "What are Our Years". This is a story about a car driver and his friend, who once saves him and a girl from hooligans. Soon they get a new job, become truckers.
In one of the next flights, Nazar again becomes a savior. This time, he frees Maya, the daughter of a large party worker, from drunken friends. He becomes a friend of her family, feels protection, leaves his beloved for Maya, whom he will marry as a result.
In 1982, Ishmukhamedov received the main prize of the All-Union Film Festival of the USSR and the state prize for the historical biographical drama "The Youth of a Genius", which tells about the childhood and youth of the philosopher Avicenna.
Awards and prizes
The director received a number of prizes and awards, including the Grand Prix of the International Film Festival in Delhi, for the drama "Farewell, the green of summer …" about a young man who was rejected by his beloved parents, but striving to do everything to prove that they were wrong.
In the 90s, he practically did not shoot, but returned to directing in the 2000s. He received the prize for the best television feature film at the Eurasian Kaleidoscope festival for the melodrama Heirs, as well as the jury prize of the Flurries festival.
In 2005, he shot the military melodrama "Lovers. Second film", for which he received a special prize of the Amur Autumn Film Festival.
