A person is familiar with ticks as much as all of humanity exists. These parasites literally do not give access to either humans or animals. In forests where ticks live, they usually sit on the tops of blades of grass and watch over us, and if good luck, they instantly cling to us.

Know that you can’t tear off the stuck ticks, because their head can remain under the skin of the victim, which will cause inflammation, and this is much more dangerous than the bite itself!

Parasites can starve for a long time, because in places where ticks live, animals, and even more so, people come across very rarely. This is surprising, but sometimes they have to go hungry for a whole year! But if "prey" is caught, then they certainly will not miss it!

What to do with the sucked tick

And we do this: we press a “bubble” with alcohol (ethyl, ant) or with cologne against the sucking parasite — the tick will disappear on its own.

As we have already said, in places where ticks are found, it is not possible to particularly profit from fame, therefore, if he had the luck to “catch” his “prey, ” he would try to drink as much blood from it as possible. And if you do not notice it, then the parasite will suck blood from you for almost a day, increasing in volume and becoming like a huge pea. When his darling is satisfied, he will fall away.

Why are ticks dangerous?

Of course, the main harm of these parasites is not bites or even blood spent on them, but the risk of contracting various diseases that they carry. The most common of these is tick-borne encephalitis. For example, in Southern Siberia and the Far East, the risk of contracting this disease is especially great. Visiting these places, you should take care of the appropriate vaccinations.

By the way, nowadays, due to the changed climate, quite dangerous ticks have appeared in the suburbs. Be careful!

Ticks are one of the most numerous arachnids on our planet! Where they just do not settle. There are even species that live only in the oceans and seas! Among them there are also “herbivorous” species that eat a considerable amount of the crop — well, real human pests! Since we are talking about the diversity of these parasites, let me tell you a couple of interesting stories about ticks.

Male

According to rumors, then male (Persian tick) is almost a monster! In Persia, where male ticks are found, people once considered their bites to be fatal. In addition, for some reason only foreigners became bitten. Scientists came to the rescue, who were able to establish that Persian ticks themselves are not poisonous. However, as befits all parasites, they suffer an infection - Persian fever. Since local residents suffer from it in childhood, after which they acquire immunity against it, this tick is no longer terrible for them, but for foreign guests, yes. The bite sometimes, indeed, is fatal.

Cheese Cancer

Many people love this tick. Yes, you heard right! Cheese is the place where the mites are found! The fact is that this tiny mite is a lover of old dry cheese. He eats it gradually, stage by stage, turning cheese into dust, consisting mostly of its scales mixed with litter. It is this, so to speak, processed "cheese" - a delicacy for most gourmets!
